John
was named President & CEO
of the Louisiana
Hospital Association
on November 3,
2004, promoted
internally from
his position
as Vice President
of Operations & Education.
He joined the
LHA staff in
1980 as Director
of Planning and
has served the
Association in
several capacities.
Prior to joining the Association staff, he spent several
years with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals
involved in statewide health planning as the program
manager for the capital expenditure review program. This
was followed by three years as assistant executive director
of the regional health planning agency in Baton Rouge.
He received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern State
University in Natchitoches in 1972 and his master's degree
from Louisiana State University in 1974.
John currently serves as Chair of the Louisiana Health
Works Commission that is working on addressing the healthcare
workforce shortage in Louisiana. He also serves on the
LSU School of Social Work Community Board, the State
Board of Examiners for Nursing Facility Administrators
and the Coalition of Leaders for Louisiana Healthcare.
He is a past Chair of the Louisiana Nursing Supply and
Demand Commission, past president of the Louisiana Society
of Association Executives and has previously served on
the board of the Louisiana Arthritis Foundation.
